In specific cases, Fast Language considers offering add-on services e.g. Vietnamese teaching assistant, specialized textbooks e.g. English in hospitality industry, English for legal professionals, English in Engineering & Construction, English in job interviews, etc. Note that additional fees may be applied for such personalized requests.

Course design

Age: Students from 15-year old

Indicative course length: 3 classes/week, 45 mins/class (Students are allowed to book 10 lessons per package)   

In general, students can see initial improvement after 3 months. Fast Language provides recordings of the first and the last classes for student self-assessment, also to double-check with the assessment by teachers. In customary, a 6 month learning time is required to achieve visible learning accomplishment.   

What is TOEIC?

TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication is a test of English as a second language in an international communication environment. TOEIC score is one of the metrics measuring English fluency in business, travel, and other activities.  

• TOEIC 100 – 300 points: Basic level. Students are not able to communicate in English.
• TOEIC 300 – 450 points: This is the average score, the required score when graduating from vocational schools, bachelors of 3-year colleges. At this score, English proficiency and communication ability are only average.
• TOEIC 450 – 650 points: This is a good score. This score is a common requirement when graduating from 4-year universities or more, employees at enterprises that work with foreigners.
• TOEIC 650 – 850 points: Students at this level have good English communication ability. Students are fully capable of communicating and working directly with foreigners.
• TOEIC 850 – 990 points: This is a score that shows very good English communication skills. At this level, students almost use English nearly as well as native speakers.

TOEIC certificate is valid in two years from the issuance date. This certificate is well recognized in many countries including Vietnam. 

Without solid foundation skills in vocabulary and pronunciation, students may be overwhelmed by this international test. The recommendations below could be helpful for those who are new to TOEIC:

Recommended Curriculum

Two of the most common accents in TOEIC exams are British accent and American accent.

The below textbooks are designed for elementary and intermediate levels. Pronunciation is especially important in speaking. This book provides students with pair-sound practices, and pronunciation exercises with single word, phrase, sentence, and paragraph. The books are recommended for all students, not just TOEIC learners.

1. English Vocabulary in Use (Elementary – Intermediate – Advanced):

This is one of the most popular textbooks for TOEIC learners. With this textbook, students can explore and familiarize themselves with helpful vocabulary in various kinds of topics.

2. 600 fundamental vocabularies for TOEIC learners:

This textbook provides students with useful vocabularies tailored to the contexts of TOEIC exams.

This textbook consists of three parts:

This textbook provides comprehensive grammar lessons from elementary to advanced. The lessons are designed in a user-friendly manner, suited for a majority of students. In addition to the theory, this textbook also offers assignments to enhance English syntax.

1. Easy TOEIC and TOEIC Starter

As their names imply, these two are for TOEIC beginners. These books are designed in a very user-friendly manner. 

2. Big Step 1, 2, 3:

This collection is for students aiming at bands 400 - 800+. What makes this collection special is the TOEIC simulating tests which are close to the real tests.

3. Tomato Intensive new TOEIC listening + reading

This collection provides practical TOEIC tips and simulating tests, designed for 30-day pre-test preparation. 

4. Barron's TOEIC 

This book is by one of the most well-known English textbook writers - Barron, who writes about TOEIC, IELTS, TOEFL, etc. The material of this book is from his real experience in taking the TOEIC test. He will also share with you the strategies to pass the test with the highest score possible. 

1. Tomato TOEIC Speaking + Writing

This collection is by two Korean writers Kim Hyeonju and Lee Boyeong. It offers students with specialized studies and advice about TOEIC speaking and writing. 

TOEIC simulation tests are also included in these books with practical exercises presented thoroughly.

2. Skills for the TOEIC test Speaking and writing

This book is by Collins, one of the most popular English book publishers. Some key notes about the book:

• Providing comprehensive analysis about TOEIC speaking and writing
• Sharing experience and tips to do TOEIC test effectively
• Offering TOEIC simulation tests 
• Including answer keys and self-assessment

This collection, from books 1 to 5, provides 10 sample TOEIC tests. 

Prerequisites: 

These courses are recommended to students from intermediate level.
